In a significant political development, internationally acclaimed circle-style kabaddi athlete Sandeep Luddhar officially integrated into the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday. The sportsman cited the public-centric strategies implemented by the ruling party and the extensive infrastructure projects spearheaded by the current Punjab administration as his primary motivations for the transition. This high-profile alignment underscores the growing intersection between local athletic icons and regional governance initiatives.

The formal induction took place in Chandigarh, where Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally hosted the athlete alongside his core circle of advocates and associates. During the welcoming ceremony, Chief Minister Mann presented Luddhar with a traditional ceremonial robe (siropa), marking his official entry into the political organization’s ranks.

The administration highlighted several long-term goals for this partnership:

  • Utilizing the athlete’s extensive experience to design grassroots sports programs.
  • Steering regional youth away from negative influences by promoting athletic discipline.
  • Expanding the ‘Rangla Punjab’ initiative to revitalize the state’s cultural and sporting heritage.
  • Strengthening the political party’s presence among traditional sports communities.

Chief Minister Mann expressed immense optimism regarding the expansion of the party’s network, noting that the addition of a celebrated figure from Punjab’s indigenous sport provides a massive boost to their civic goals. He emphasized that the involvement of distinguished youth icons is essential for elevating the state’s athletic infrastructure to new heights. The political leader reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transforming the region into a thriving sports hub with the help of seasoned professionals.

Following the ceremony, Sandeep Luddhar voiced his admiration for the progressive trajectory established by Chief Minister Mann’s leadership. He expressed a strong desire to contribute meaningfully to the state’s social progress and promised to utilize his platform to advocate for community welfare. Luddhar pledged to execute his new organizational responsibilities with absolute integrity, focusing on youth empowerment and the structural growth of regional sports.
