In a move to modernize the traditional sport of the soil, Deputy Chief Minister and Sports Minister of Maharashtra, Sunetra Pawar, inaugurated the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup State-Level Kabaddi Tournament on Thursday in Koradi, Nagpur. Addressing a large gathering of athletes and officials, Pawar emphasized that for kabaddi to thrive on the global stage, it must bridge the gap between tradition and modern technology.
The tournament is a collaborative effort between the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services (Nagpur Division), the Amateur Kabaddi Association of Vidarbha, and the Nagpur Rural Kabaddi Association. Hosted at Sevanand Vidyalaya, the event serves as a premier platform for regional talent to showcase their skills before state selection.
