Sujatha High School emerged as the senior boys’ kabaddi champions at the 26th Annual Kargil Victory Sports Festival in Hyderabad. The school produced a strong performance in the final to defeat Nagarjuna High School 8-3 and lift the championship trophy.
The tournament was organised by the YMCA of Greater Hyderabad at its Narayanguda branch and brought together several school teams from across the city. The annual sporting event featured multiple disciplines, with kabaddi being one of the major attractions.
Sujatha High School Win Senior Boys’ Title
The Sujatha High School kabaddi team delivered a disciplined performance in the senior boys’ final against Nagarjuna High School.
Sujatha controlled the contest and eventually secured an 8-3 victory. Their defence remained organised throughout the match, while their raiders made the most of their opportunities to build a winning advantage.
The result gave Sujatha High School the senior boys’ kabaddi championship and capped an impressive campaign at the tournament.
Nagarjuna High School had to settle for second place after being unable to match Sujatha’s defensive organisation and attacking play in the final.
Nagarjuna School Take Senior Girls’ Trophy
While Nagarjuna High School missed out in the senior boys’ final, Nagarjuna School enjoyed success in the senior girls’ competition.
Nagarjuna School defeated St. John’s School, Nagole, 18-12 in the senior girls’ final to claim the championship.
The final produced a much higher scoring contest than the senior boys’ match, with Nagarjuna’s attacking players playing an important role in securing the title.
Other Kabaddi Winners
The junior categories also produced competitive finals during the tournament.
In the junior boys’ final, Candor Shrine High School defeated Vivek Vardhini High School 12-9. The close scoreline reflected the competitive nature of the contest, with both teams fighting hard for the championship.
St. John’s High School, Ramanthapur, won the junior girls’ title after defeating St. John’s High School, Nagole, 22-15.
The four finals showcased the depth of school kabaddi talent in Hyderabad and gave young players an opportunity to compete against strong teams from across the city.
Kargil Victory Sports Festival Hyderabad
The Kargil Victory Sports Festival Hyderabad is an annual inter-school sporting event organised by the YMCA of Greater Hyderabad through its Narayanguda branch.
