The inaugural Koshi Tappu Open Women’s National Kabaddi Championship is reaching its climax in Inaruwa, where two elite departmental giants are set to battle for the crown. Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF) have emerged as the final contenders following a series of high-stakes matches in Sunsari. Both teams secured their spots in the championship round after demonstrating superior tactical play during the semifinal stage.
The journey to the final saw Nepal Police deliver a decisive performance against Tribhuvan Army to clinch the first qualifying spot. In the subsequent semifinal matchup, the Armed Police Force squad proved too strong for the host side, Koshi Province, setting the stage for an intense title clash.
The tournament offers significant rewards for the top-performing teams:
- Champions: A cash prize of Rs 100,000 accompanied by the winner’s trophy.
- Runners-up: Rs 50,000 and a second-place trophy.
- Semi-finalists: The two third-place teams will each receive Rs 25,000, along with trophies, medals, and official certificates.
According to the event organizers, the final showdown will take place at the Education Office playground located in Inaruwa-2. Fans are expected to gather in large numbers to witness which departmental side will claim the honor of being the first-ever Koshi Tappu champions.
