The regional phase of the ‘Notun Kuri Sports’ tournament concluded with a grand closing ceremony and prize distribution at the Muktijuddho Smriti Stadium in Rajshahi. The host district achieved a monumental milestone by securing championship titles in both the boys’ and girls’ categories of the kabaddi competition. This high-profile youth talent initiative was jointly orchestrated by the Rajshahi Divisional Administration and the District Sports Office to foster grassroots athletic talent.
From early afternoon, the stadium transformed into a lively hub of celebration as young competitors from various upazilas gathered in their distinct team kits. The spectators’ gallery was packed with enthusiastic parents, educators, and local sports fans who came to support the emerging athletes. The arena itself was beautifully decorated with the national flag, event banners, and multi-colored displays to commemorate the finale.

During his presidential address, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Bazlur Rashid emphasized that sports serve as an essential foundation for teaching discipline, leadership, and core human values to the younger generation. He reiterated that structured athletic programs are vital for rearing a healthy, focused, and talented populace. The Commissioner concluded the event by urging the youth to strike a healthy balance between their formal academic curricula, character building, and regular physical education.
