The Pro Kabaddi League has produced several champions since its launch in 2014, but only three franchises have managed to win the title more than once. Patna Pirates lead the way with three championships, while Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi K.C. have won two titles each.
These three teams stand out in the PKL winners list because of their ability to build competitive squads and perform under pressure across different seasons.
Patna Pirates Lead With Three Titles
Patna Pirates are the most successful team in PKL history, with three championships. They won three consecutive titles in Seasons 3, 4 and 5, establishing one of the strongest dynasties in the league.
Much of their success was built around legendary raider Pardeep Narwal, who became the league’s all-time leading raid point scorer. Patna also had important contributions from players such as Rohit Kumar and Monu Goyat during their championship run.
Their most dominant final came in Season 5 when they defeated Gujarat Fortune Giants 55-38. Pardeep was a central figure throughout that campaign and helped Patna maintain their dominance.
The Pirates have also reached the final twice since their three title-winning seasons, finishing runners-up in Seasons 8 and 11.
Jaipur Pink Panthers Have Two Titles
Jaipur Pink Panthers are another major name among the most successful PKL teams. They won the inaugural championship in 2014 before waiting eight years to claim their second title.
Their first triumph came against U Mumba, with Jaipur winning the final 35-24. The team’s early success helped establish them as one of the league’s most recognizable franchises.
Their second championship arrived in Season 9 in 2022. Led by strong defensive leadership from Sunil Kumar and impressive raiding from Arjun Deshwal, Jaipur defeated Puneri Paltan 33-29 in the final.
The eight-year gap between their championships makes their second title particularly notable. It showed the franchise’s ability to rebuild and return to the top.
Dabang Delhi K.C. Join the Two Title Club
Dabang Delhi K.C. have also won two championships. Their first title came in Season 8, when they narrowly defeated Patna Pirates 37-36 in one of the closest finals in league history.
After struggling to consistently challenge for the championship during the early years of the competition, Delhi developed into a regular playoff contender. Players such as Naveen Kumar and Ashu Malik became important parts of their success, while experienced defenders added stability.
Delhi won their second championship in Season 12, defeating Puneri Paltan 31-28. Their latest title confirmed their place among the Pro Kabaddi League champions with multiple trophies.
Complete PKL Championship Picture
The most PKL titles currently belong to Patna Pirates with three. Jaipur Pink Panthers and Dabang Delhi K.C. follow with two each.
Other franchises have won the title once, including U Mumba, Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriorz, Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers.
The championship history shows how competitive the league has become. No team has yet matched Patna’s three title run, while several franchises continue to chase their first or second championship.
The Most Successful Teams
Patna Pirates remain the benchmark for success because they are the only team to win three titles. Jaipur Pink Panthers combine the honour of being inaugural champions with a successful modern revival, while Dabang Delhi K.C. have shown how a team can evolve into a championship contender.
As the PKL continues to grow, these three franchises remain at the centre of the league’s history. Their titles, finals appearances and iconic players have helped shape the competition and establish the standard that future PKL winners will be measured against.
