Pawan Sehrawat, popularly known as the “Hi-Flyer,” is currently playing for the Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League. One of the most successful raiders of his generation, Sehrawat has returned to the franchise after spending two seasons with the Telugu Titans.
His return marks another important chapter in a career that has already included a PKL title, an MVP award and several record-breaking individual performances. The Pawan Sehrawat current team has also handed him the responsibility of leading the side, making him both the captain and the main raiding option.
Pawan Sehrawat PKL Team 2026
The Pawan Sehrawat PKL team 2026 is Tamil Thalaivas. He originally joined the franchise in Season 9 after being bought for a record price at the PKL auction.
His first campaign with Tamil Thalaivas, however, ended almost immediately after he suffered an ACL injury in the opening match. After recovering, Sehrawat moved to the Telugu Titans for Seasons 10 and 11, where he served as captain and led their attack.
He has now returned to Tamil Thalaivas for Season 12 and has taken over the captaincy. The franchise will expect its biggest star to lead from the front and produce the kind of attacking performances that have made him one of the most feared raiders in the league.
Why Is Pawan Sehrawat Called the Hi-Flyer?
Sehrawat earned the nickname “Hi Flyer” because of his remarkable ability to jump over defenders. His trademark move is the Frog Jump, where he uses his explosive leap and body control to clear diving corner or cover defenders and reach the midline.
The move is particularly dangerous because it can turn what looks like a successful defensive attempt into a spectacular raid point for Sehrawat.
He is also highly effective with the running hand touch. His speed allows him to attack defenders before they can form a proper chain, while his long reach gives him additional options when searching for touch points.
Although raiding remains his biggest strength, Sehrawat can also contribute defensively. His ability to collect important tackle points adds another dimension to his value as a captain and senior player.
Pawan Sehrawat’s PKL Journey
Sehrawat began his PKL journey with the Bengaluru Bulls during Seasons 3 and 4. He then joined the Gujarat Giants in Season 5 before returning to Bengaluru for Seasons 6 to 8.
His time with the Bulls produced the defining period of his career. He helped Bengaluru win their maiden PKL title in Season 6 and was named the Most Valuable Player. He also finished as the league’s leading raid point scorer for three consecutive seasons.
After his injury affected his first campaign with Tamil Thalaivas, Sehrawat moved to Telugu Titans for two seasons. His return to Tamil Thalaivas now gives him another opportunity to build a new legacy with the franchise.
A Major Player for Tamil Thalaivas
Sehrawat’s experience, attacking ability and leadership make him central to Tamil Thalaivas’ ambitions. He has already won the PKL title and represented India successfully at major international competitions, including the Asian Games and South Asian Games.
With the Thalaivas putting him back at the centre of their plans, the Pawan Sehrawat current team has one of the league’s most dangerous raiders leading its attack. If the Hi-Flyer can stay fit and reproduce his best form, Tamil Thalaivas could have a serious contender for the PKL season.
