Maninder Singh is closing in on one of the biggest records in Pro Kabaddi League history. The veteran raider currently has 1,568 raid points and needs 233 more to overtake Pardeep Narwal’s record of 1,801 raid points. With PKL 13 approaching, Maninder has a chance to become the highest-scoring raider in the history of the competition.

Pardeep Narwal remains at the top of the all-time list despite retiring from the league. Maninder is the only active player close enough to challenge his record. The gap is large, but his career scoring rate suggests that breaking the record is possible if he gets enough matches and regular opportunities.

Maninder Singh PKL Record Chase

The Maninder Singh PKL record chase is particularly interesting because of how closely his scoring rate compares with Pardeep Narwal. Maninder has scored 1,568 points in 165 matches, giving him an average of 9.50 raid points per game. Pardeep finished his career with 1,801 points from 190 matches at an average of 9.48 points per game.

This shows that Maninder has been almost equally effective whenever he has stepped onto the mat. His career success rate of 60.37 percent is also higher than Pardeep’s figure of around 57 percent. However, Pardeep played 25 more matches, which largely explains why he currently holds the record.

How Many Raid Points Does Maninder Need?

Maninder needs 234 raid points to move ahead of Pardeep and take the record outright. A normal PKL season gives a team 22 league matches, while a team reaching the final could play around 24 or 25 games.

If Maninder plays all 22 league matches, he would need to average around 10.64 Maninder Singh raid points per game. That is higher than his career average, but it is not beyond his ability. If Patna Pirates reach the later stages and Maninder plays around 24 matches, he would need roughly 9.75 points per game, which is much closer to his career rate.

Maninder Singh PKL 13 Role Will Be Important

The biggest question surrounding Maninder Singh PKL 13 is his role within the team. After spending seven seasons as the main raider and captain of Bengal Warriors, Maninder moved to Patna Pirates ahead of PKL 12.

However, his role changed considerably during the previous season. He played only seven matches and was used more as an impact or rotational player rather than as the team’s undisputed lead raider.

For the record chase to become realistic, Maninder will need regular starting opportunities. He may need to make around 15 to 18 raids per match and remain one of Patna’s main attacking options throughout the campaign.

Can Maninder Make History?

Age could also play an important role in the record chase. At 36, maintaining fitness and recovering between matches will be a major challenge during the demanding PKL schedule.

However, Maninder’s powerful style gives him an advantage in some areas. He relies heavily on strength, upper body power and hand touches, rather than depending only on speed and agility.

If Maninder receives regular minutes across 22 to 24 matches, he has a genuine chance to break Pardeep Narwal’s record in PKL 13. If he continues in a rotational role, however, the Maninder Singh PKL record chase could extend into another season.
