The Pro Kabaddi League has grown into one of India’s biggest sporting competitions since its launch in 2014. Over the years, several teams have built strong legacies through championship victories, consistent performances, and memorable players.

When discussing the best teams in PKL history, titles are important, but consistency and long-term success also matter. Some franchises have dominated entire eras, while others have impressed with regular playoff appearances and strong squad building.

Here is a ranking of the most successful franchises based on their achievements and impact on the league.

1. Patna Pirates

Patna Pirates are widely regarded as the greatest team in Pro Kabaddi history. They have won the most titles in Pro Kabaddi with three championships.

The Pirates achieved a remarkable feat by winning Seasons 3, 4, and 5 consecutively. No other team has managed to win three straight titles. Led by stars like Pardeep Narwal, Patna built a reputation for fearless attacking kabaddi and consistency at the highest level.

They have also reached five finals, making them the most successful franchise in league history.

2. Dabang Delhi K.C.

Dabang Delhi K.C. have emerged as one of the strongest teams of the modern era. Their rise began in the later seasons, and they quickly became regular title contenders.

Delhi won their first championship in Season 8 and added another trophy in Season 12. Reaching multiple finals has helped them establish themselves among the best teams in PKL history.

Their ability to perform under pressure has made them one of the league’s most respected franchises.

3. Jaipur Pink Panthers

Jaipur Pink Panthers will always have a special place in PKL history because they won the inaugural season in 2014.

After several challenging seasons, the team rebuilt itself and captured a second title in Season 9. Their strong defense and balanced squad helped them return to the top.

With two championships, Jaipur remain one of the most successful teams in the competition.

4. Puneri Paltan

Puneri Paltan have become one of the most consistent teams in recent years. They reached the finals in Seasons 9 and 12 before finally winning their first title in Season 10.

The franchise is known for developing young talent and building strong squads. Their steady performances have helped them earn a place among the league’s elite teams.

5. U Mumba

U Mumba were the first dominant force in PKL history. Under the leadership of Anup Kumar, they reached the finals in each of the first three seasons.

The team won the championship in Season 2 and set high standards for consistency during the early years of the league. Although they have not added another title since then, their impact on the growth of PKL remains significant.

Other Successful Teams

Haryana Steelers, Bengaluru Bulls, and Bengal Warriorz have each won one championship and have contributed to the league’s competitive nature.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants remain one of the strongest teams yet to win a title. Despite reaching two finals, they are still searching for their first championship.

Conclusion

The race for the most titles in Pro Kabaddi has produced several great franchises over the years. Patna Pirates lead the way with their historic three championships, while Dabang Delhi K.C., Jaipur Pink Panthers, Puneri Paltan, and U Mumba have all left a lasting mark on the sport. These teams have shaped the league and earned their place among the best teams in PKL history.
