Siwan kabaddi celebrated a memorable achievement after the host district defeated Saran by seven points in the final to win the State Level Junior Zonal Boys Kabaddi Championship 2026. The tournament was jointly organised by the Bihar State Kabaddi Association and the Siwan District Kabaddi Association, with matches held at the Divine Public School playground in Pathardeai, Siwan.
Playing in front of home supporters, Siwan produced an impressive performance throughout the competition before lifting the championship trophy. Their victory highlighted the district’s growing reputation as one of Bihar’s emerging centres for young kabaddi talent.
Grand Opening Marks The Beginning Of The Tournament
The championship began with a formal inauguration ceremony attended by several distinguished guests. The event was officially opened with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony by Divine Public School Chairman Subhash Prasad, Principal Shivani Vikram, Organising Committee Secretary Manoranjan Kumar Singh, and Joint Secretary Harikant Kumar.
The tournament brought together five district teams from the Saran Zone, including Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Gopalganj, and Muzaffarpur. Young players from across the region competed for the prestigious junior title, showcasing their skills in front of coaches, officials, and local supporters.
Siwan’s Road To The Championship
The Siwan kabaddi team started its campaign with a strong performance against Gopalganj. Siwan secured a five-point victory to book its place in the next stage and build confidence for the remainder of the competition.
In another important fixture, Muzaffarpur defeated Vaishali by 15 points to continue its campaign. However, the spotlight eventually shifted to the championship match, where Siwan vs Saran kabaddi became the headline contest of the tournament.
The final lived up to expectations, with both teams displaying determination and disciplined defending. Siwan managed to maintain control during crucial moments and eventually defeated Saran by seven points to secure the championship title. School officials also stressed the importance of providing competitive platforms where young players can develop their abilities and prepare for higher levels of competition.
The successful organisation of the championship was made possible through the efforts of several committee members and local contributors, including Ravikant Ram, Ravi Kumar, Aman Singh, Ankit Kumar Singh, Ritesh Baba, Abhimanyu Singh, and Mithun Mali.
