At the closing ceremony of the 2nd All India Police Kabaddi Cluster 2025–26 on March 12, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a powerful tribute to the security forces and a stern warning to those threatening the region’s stability. Addressing a packed crowd at the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu, the LG emphasized that the current environment of peace was “secured through the sacrifices of the J&K Police, the Army, and the CAPFs.”
In a direct message to disruptive elements, Sinha stated: “You will find no place to hide. We will hunt you down from the deepest depths.”
Highlights of the Closing Ceremony
The week-long event (March 7–12) saw 1,648 athletes from various State Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) competing in Kabaddi, Gymnastics, Fencing, and Kho-Kho.
- Fencing Dominance: Jammu & Kashmir Police emerged as a powerhouse in fencing, clinching Gold in the Men’s Sabre Team event. Manipur Police took Gold in Women’s Epee, while SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) topped the Women’s Sabre category.
- Gymnastics Excellence: The BSF (Border Security Force) secured the Men’s Team Championship title, with Sankshep Yadav (UP Police) winning Gold in the Men’s Vault.
- Values of Policing: The LG praised the “discipline and determination” of the participants, noting that the sports field bridges divides of geography, rank, and language.
Double Celebration: J&K’s Historic Ranji Triumph
A major highlight of the evening was the felicitation of the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Team. On February 28, 2026, the squad scripted history by winning their maiden Ranji Trophy title (2025–26 season).
