In a major tactical move ahead of the 2026 Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season, Gujarat Giants have officially appointed the legendary Randhir Singh Sehrawat as their new head coach. Announced by Adani Sportsline on March 11, 2026, the move signals the franchise’s intent to secure its maiden PKL title by bringing in one of the most decorated minds in the sport.
Sehrawat, widely known as the “Chanakya of Kabaddi,” makes a high-profile move to Gujarat after a historic 11-season tenure with the Bengaluru Bulls, where he was the only coach to remain with a single franchise since the league’s inception in 2014.
A Legacy of Success
Randhir Singh Sehrawat’s resume is among the most prestigious in international kabaddi:
- PKL Excellence: Over 11 seasons, he guided the Bengaluru Bulls to the Season 6 title and led them to the playoffs six times.
- National Dominance: As the coach of the Indian Railways team, he steered both the men’s and women’s squads to multiple national championship titles.
- Player Pedigree: An Arjuna Awardee, Sehrawat was the vice-captain of the Indian team that won Gold at the 1990 Asian Games. He also represented India at the 1988 Asian Kabaddi Championship and the 1989 South Asian Games.
The Road to Season 13
The Giants’ coaching change comes after the franchise parted ways with Ram Mehar Singh following a disappointing Season 12 campaign.
