Punit Balan Takes Charge of Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India

Indian kabaddi has entered a new chapter after sports administrator and entrepreneur Punit Balan was elected unopposed as the President of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI). The election took place in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and marks an important leadership transition for the sport.

The election process was conducted under strict supervision to ensure transparency. Former High Court Judge Justice Ratnakar Bhengra served as the Election Officer, while retired District Judge Pankaj Shrivastava acted as the Assistant Election Officer.

Along with Punit Balan as President, the federation announced several key appointments. Ramdas Tadas was named President Emeritus, Rajkumar Singh became Chief Patron, and Ushi Reddy was appointed General Secretary.

The new executive committee combines experienced administrators with modern sports management professionals. This blend is expected to help the federation improve operations and create better opportunities for players.
