SJVN Hosts 25th Inter-CPSU Kabaddi Tournament at Rampur HPS

The Rampur Hydro Power Station (HPS) in Himachal Pradesh has become the center of corporate sportsmanship as SJVN Limited officially inaugurated the 25th Inter-CPSU Kabaddi Tournament. Running from March 24 to 26, 2026, the event brings together elite teams from India’s leading Central Public Sector Enterprises under the aegis of the Power Sports Control Board (PSCB).

The opening ceremony featured a disciplined march-past by the athletes and a vibrant showcase of local culture, including a traditional Pahari Nati performance.

Leadership Vision: Fitness and Productivity

SJVN’s top management highlighted the intrinsic link between physical health and professional excellence:

  • CMD Bhupender Gupta emphasized that sports are a vital driver of organizational excellence and teamwork in a dynamic work environment.
  • Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma noted that a healthy workforce is the backbone of sustained productivity.
  • Director (Finance) Parthajit De pointed out that such tournaments significantly enhance mental well-being and professional efficiency.

  • THDC India Limited
  • Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB)
  • Central Electricity Authority (CEA)
  • Rural Electrification Corporation (REC)
  • Ministry of Power (MoP) & host SJVN

The inaugural day saw four high-octane league matches, with several favorites securing early leads in the standings:

Community & Cultural Integration

Beyond the mat, SJVN utilized the event to support local empowerment. Members of local Mahila Mandals (women’s groups) were provided stalls to showcase regional handicrafts and traditional delicacies, promoting the “Vocal for Local” initiative and celebrating the heritage of Himachal Pradesh.

The competition will continue with knockout rounds over the next two days, culminating in the Grand Final on March 26.
