The Gurugram Gurus are preparing for a stronger campaign in the upcoming Kabaddi Champions League Season 2, with the tournament scheduled to take place in November 2026. The second edition will be hosted at the Sports University of Haryana in Rai, Sonipat, as 10 franchises compete for the title.
The Gurugram kabaddi team will be looking to build on the lessons learned during the inaugural season. Franchise operator Sushant Jaglan has indicated that the team has identified areas for improvement and is targeting a deeper playoff run this time around. The official squad and final roster are expected to be announced in October.
Gurugram Gurus Target Stronger Season
The Gurugram Gurus believe the experience from the first edition will help them approach the new campaign with greater confidence. The franchise management has focused on improving the balance of the squad while preparing for a more competitive tournament.
The expansion of the league from eight to 10 teams means the challenge will be greater in Season 2. The Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights have joined the competition, adding two new franchises to an already competitive field.
For Gurugram, the goal is to remain competitive throughout the league stage and reach the playoffs before pushing for the championship trophy.
Rahul Sethpal Highlights Gurugram’s Talent
One of the biggest examples of the franchise’s talent development is defender Rahul Sethpal. The right corner has been selected in India’s men’s kabaddi squad for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
His presence in the national team underlines the quality of the talent associated with the franchise. Sethpal is among the Gurugram kabaddi players who have gained recognition beyond the domestic level, giving the Gurugram Gurus another important connection to India’s international kabaddi setup.
The franchise will hope that its combination of experienced players and Haryana-based talent can provide the depth required during a long tournament.
Gurugram Kabaddi Players to Watch
The potential Gurugram group includes several experienced raiders, with Neeraj Narwal, Vikas Kandola, Mandeep Kumar, Sahil, Happy, Sanju Malik, Mohit Deswal and Jatin Narwal among the names in the talent pool.
The defensive options include Rahul Sethpal, Sandeep Dhull, Sanjay Dhull, Aman and Himanshu in the corners. Ankush Duhan, Ashish Umed and Manish Dhull are among the cover options.
The final roster will be confirmed after the October player draft and squad announcements. Until then, the franchise has a broad pool of players from which to build its Season 2 team.
KCL Season 2 Gurugram Campaign
The KCL Season 2 Gurugram campaign will take place as part of a 10-team tournament at the Sports University of Haryana. Alongside Gurugram Gurus, the competition will feature Karnal Kings, Hisar Heroes, Sonipat Stars, Bhiwani Bulls, Faridabad Fighters, Panipat Panthers, Rohtak, Jind Jaguars and Kurukshetra Knights.
The tournament is led by KCL chairman Balwan Singh, with KK Hooda and Rambir Singh Khokhar serving as mentors. With a larger field and stronger competition, Gurugram will need to turn its lessons from the inaugural season into consistent performances if it wants to challenge for the KCL Season 2 title.
