Kabaddi in Eastern India is set for a major boost with the official launch of the JBC Kabaddi League 2026. The new competition, which stands for the Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh Kabaddi League, aims to provide a professional platform for talented players from three of India’s strongest kabaddi regions.
The league has been officially sanctioned by the Kabaddi Association of Jharkhand, Bihar State Kabaddi Association, and Chhattisgarh Kabaddi Association, all of which are affiliated with the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI). The announcement marks an important step in strengthening the grassroots structure of the sport.
Five Teams Confirmed for the First Season
The inaugural JBC Kabaddi League teams list will feature five franchises, representing different districts and regions across Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh.
The league will follow a structured format that includes talent scouting, a player auction, and a professional league competition. This system is expected to give local players an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete in an organized environment.

Sports entrepreneur Rannvijay Singh has joined the project as co promoter.
Rannvijay is also the director of BIPL and the owner of the Awadh Ramdoots franchise in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League. His experience in franchise sports is expected to play a key role in the successful launch of the tournament.
Speaking about the vision for the competition, Rannvijay said that state and local leagues are essential for the growth of kabaddi. He added that Jharkhand, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh have a rich kabaddi tradition, and the league will provide a structured pathway connecting grassroots talent with the professional game.
Adding further credibility to the project, legendary Indian kabaddi coach and Arjuna Award winner Randhir Singh Sehrawat, popularly known as “Coach Saab,” has been appointed as the league’s brand ambassador.
